Stonewall celebrates Top Global Employers

Published July 22, 2025

Stonewall has recognised several global employers and individuals for their ongoing commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion in 2025’s Global Workplace Equality Index (GWEI).

This year’s applications saw many organisations committed to supporting LGBTQ+ people – collectively operating in 152 countries around the world and employing over 1.25 million people.

Over the last few months, some organisations have been seen publicly rolling back on their diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) commitments, so it is reassuring to see so many understanding – and prioritising - the value of inclusion in the workplace and placing the principles of inclusion at the centre of their work.

As well as announcing our Top Global Employers, today we also recognise the individuals, networks and innovations creating and driving inclusive workplaces for LGBTQ+ people.

Simon Blake OBE, CEO of Stonewall said:

“Huge congratulations to the organisations who have achieved recognition as a Top Global Employer this year.

“This year’s Global Workplace Equality Index takes place during a time when we are seeing increased uncertainty and concern in the LGBTQ+ community around the rollback of hard-won rights and freedoms. Employers play a vital role in championing LGBTQ+ rights and helping to push for the positive change that we know is possible.

“We spend much of our time at work, so the culture and environment in our workplaces has a huge impact on our day-to-day lives. We know that people perform best when they feel accepted and included - that’s why it’s vital to ensure every single LGBTQ+ person is treated with dignity and respect at work, wherever they are.

“We look forward to continuing to work with hundreds of Global Proud Employers to support this essential work."

About the Global Workplace Equality Index

The Global Workplace Equality Index is our benchmarking and assessment tool designed to support global workplaces to create inclusive environments where their LGBTQ+ colleagues can thrive.

Entering the Global Workplace Equality Index is a voluntary exercise which enables employers to measure their progress on LGBTQ+ equality in the workplace.

Organisations that enter the index supply evidence detailing their practice across eight key areas of workplace LGBTQ+ inclusion, such as workplace policy, employee network groups, safe travel, and human rights, partnerships and advocacy.

Each submission is carefully reviewed by inclusion experts with bespoke feedback provided, and submissions support us to develop a library of good practice. Those organisations who achieve a gold, silver, or bronze award earn Top Global Employer status.
