Rainbow Laces is Stonewall's sports, exercise and wellbeing campaign. The vision is a world where those in the LGBTQ+ community feel welcome and safe to move, participate and play. Rainbow Laces makes belonging visible so the LGBTQ+ community can move with pride.
This summer is packed with sport – the men’s FIFA World Cup, the Women’s T20 World Cup and the Commonwealth Games are all happening and many of the biggest moments will overlap with Pride Month.
At a time when three times as many LGBTQ+ people are facing discrimination whilst exercising, now is the perfect time to make a statement: LGBTQ+ people belong in sport.
Whether you’re a venue, a sports club, or just gathering friends to cheer on your team, host a Rainbow Laces watch party and raise money for a great cause while championing LGBTQ+ inclusion in sport and movement.
The key dates:
- 11 June – FIFA World Cup starts
- 12 June – Women’s T20 World Cup starts
- 23 July – Commonwealth Games start
