Anti-Bullying Week 2026: Break the Silence
What is Anti-Bullying Week?
Anti-Bullying Week is an annual awareness week that brings together schools, young people, families and organisations across the UK to stand up to bullying. Co-ordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance, the week is an opportunity to raise awareness of the different types of bullying and how we can all work together to end it.
This year’s theme is Break the Silence. It’s a call for children, young people and adults to start conversations about bullying, speak up, listen and take action together.
Why it matters for LGBTQ+ young people
Too many young LGBTQ+ people are being bullied simply for being who they are.
Diversity Role Model’s 2024 report found that bullying related to sexuality and gender remained with the most prevalent forms of bullying identified by young people themselves.
The impact of bullying cannot be underestimated. It leaves young people feeling isolated and unsafe at school. Tackling it means changing how all students understand difference, and how they treat each other.
Break the silence with a workshop
Diversity Role Model’s student workshops create safe spaces where young people can explore difference and think about their role in creating a world where we all feel accepted. Featuring LGBTQ+ and ally Role Models, they help students build empathy and understand the impact of their words and actions.
Diversity Role Models deliver workshops in primary schools, secondary schools, alternative provision and SEND settings, further education and youth clubs.
