We’re campaigning to ban conversion practices – stand with us

Published April 9, 2026

Conversion practices violate fundamental human rights, perpetuate discrimination, and cause significant long-term harm to people and communities. LGBTQ+ people deserve to be safe and be protected from this abuse.

Conversion practices include any medical, psychiatric, psychological, religious, cultural or any other interventions that seek to ‘change’, cure’, or suppress the sexual orientation and/or gender identity of a person. You can read more about conversion practices here

The Government has repeatedly promised to publish a draft Bill to ban harmful conversion practices by the end of this parliamentary session. It was recently reported that the Government are expected to end the current session of parliament the week of 27 April. That means they have three weeks to publish their draft Bill.

We're proud members of the Ban Conversion Practices Coalition and are campaigning to make sure the Government delivers – and we need you.

Now is the moment to re-commit, stand with us and be ready to act when the parliamentary session ends.

Take the survey to show your support

We’re gearing up to enter a crucial stage of the campaign – and we want to hear from you

A ban on conversion practices has been delayed for too long, and now it’s time for the Government to turn their words into action.

As a coalition, we want to demonstrate public support for a ban, show the Government why it matters and what it would mean to the LGBTQ+ community and allies. Your messages of support will help us build a powerful body of evidence and will bring our campaign to life.

Every message strengthens the campaign and helps to make the case for a fully inclusive ban on conversion practices.

Tell us why this ban matters to you

Get ready to take action

Getting a draft Bill is an important milestone in the journey to banning conversion practices, but our campaign doesn’t end there. We’ll need your support to make sure the ban is strong, effective and free from loopholes that could allow this harm to continue. If the Government fails on its commitment, we’ll need your support then too.

By taking the survey, you’ll be committing your support to the campaign, and will be ready to take part in actions coming down the line. Your support is absolutely crucial.

Together, we will see an end to this harm.
