Move with Pride

Everyone should feel free to move, play and participate. Yet, for the LGBTQ+ community there are still barriers which make it harder for people to get moving.

Movement brings huge health, wellbeing and social benefits, but three times as many LGBTQ+ people face discrimination whilst exercising – Rainbow Laces exists to change that.

Rainbow Laces is an always-on movement which says: LGBTQ+ people belong here. We’re calling on organisations, individuals, sports venues, clubs and teams to take action to signal that LGBTQ+ people are welcome. Here’s how!

  1. Lace up and plan an activity

Buying and wearing the iconic Rainbow Laces is the simplest way to show your support – they’re a visible signal that LGBTQ+ people belong in sport and exercise. They also look fabulous.

To take part in the campaign, purchase some Rainbow Laces and choose an activation that works for your sport or organisation. Host a Rainbow Laces tournament, organise a rainbow run, or put on a Rainbow Laces themed dance class, there are so many ways for every sport to take action and show support.

That even includes watching! We’ve got everything you need to make spectator sports empowering with our Rainbow Laces watch party pack – download it here and get your mates together to watch your favourite sportspeople show their stuff.

Our Rainbow Laces are a simple way to add colour to your trainers, boots, or skates. Each pair supports Stonewall, helping fund vital work for LGBTQ+ equality.

2. Sign the Proud Plegde

Take your commitment one step further by signing the Proud Pledge and displaying it in your club, gym, community hall or other space. The Proud Pledge helps organisations turn welcome from an intention into a visible sign. Every Pledge displayed signals to LGBTQ+ people that ‘You are welcome. You belong here’.

You’ll also be joining our network of belonging – once you’ve signed up don’t forget to use our assets to make that commitment visible!

3. Share online

If you’re wearing Rainbow Laces, then we want to see what you’re up to. Share photos of your activity and show us how you’re styling your laces. Every photo shared builds visibility and shows the LGBTQ+ community that sport and movement is for them.
