Top Employer 2024: Linklaters
After reaching the ninth spot last year, the law firm Linklaters has now risen to the top of the list and become our number one employer for the 2024 UK Workplace Equality Index.
From their first day at Linklaters, employees are presented with a plethora of opportunities to get involved in diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives. Inductions include specific messages about Linklaters’ commitment to LGBTQ+ inclusion, information about the network is immediately available and non-binary staff have the option for their identities to be recognized on workplace systems from day one. Key events like bi visibility day and non-binary people’s day are celebrated as part of the annual LGBTQ+ calendar, ensuring the LGBTQ+ identities are recognized and celebrate throughout the year.
Linklaters has carefully reviewed policies and benefits to ensure that it’s explicitly inclusive of LGBTQ+ people. Healthcare provisions are comprehensive and also ensure LGBTQ+ mental healthcare is included.
Its LGBTQ+ Network ‘With Pride’ supports the professional development of its members with various learning opportunities and seeks to be a truly diverse and inclusive space for the whole LGBTQ+ community by offering safe spaces for network members with marginalized identities to share experiences and offer support. Allies are also encouraged to be active in championing LGBTQ+ inclusion at work, and have the opportunity to learn about championing all LGBTQ+ identities through their ‘Earn Your (Rainbow) Stripes’ guides.
Linklaters offers a reverse mentoring scheme ‘Diverse Voices’ to allow senior leaders to gain insight into the issues affecting LGBTQ+ colleagues and those leaders have actively shared strong messages of support for LGBTQ+ communities, ensuring that everyone feels safe and welcome at Linklaters.
Stonewall congratulates Linklaters on all of this hard work to become the Top Employer in this year’s Workplace Equality Index!
