Useful resources for schools, colleges and settings working with faith values

Published in December 2019

At Stonewall, we get asked about whether LGBT inclusion is possible in faith and church schools.

We work with hundreds of faith and church schools on tackling homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying and language. Below are some of the resources and guides that schools find helpful in shaping this work through their values.

Faith organisation resources

Church of England Education Office

Valuing All God’s Children: Guidance for Church of England schools on challenging homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying (2017, updated in 2019)

Catholic Education Service and St Mary’s University Twickenham London

Made in God’s Image: Challenging homophobic and biphobic bullying in Catholic schools (2018)

Office of the Chief Rabbi and Keshet UK

The Wellbeing of LGBT+ Pupils: A Guide for Orthodox Jewish Schools (2018)

The list is not exhaustive, but we hope these resources can help you if you ever need them. If none of these is what you’re looking for, or you think there’s something missing from this list, get in touch with our Info Service.
