Proudly Pro-You Series

We’ve teamed up with NYX Professional Makeup and UK Black Pride to bring you a free webinar series and networking event celebrating queer, trans and intersex people of colour (QTIPOC), as part of NYX Professional Makeup’s Proudly Pro-You brand cause.

Join us to hear from inspiring QTIPOC speakers, explore themes like leadership, resilience and career growth and connect with a supportive community. Webinars will spotlight both sector-specific perspectives and broader themes including leadership, resilience and networking skills.

If you are a QTIPOC professional or starting out on your career journey, get ready to level up with practical strategies, inspiring discussion and a fun, supportive community of like-minded professionals. 

What to expect 

The Proudly Pro-You series includes eight webinars for QTIPOC individuals followed by an in-person networking event in London.

In each webinar, inspiring expert speakers will share their insights. Each session will have a Q&A session at the end. You will be able to submit your questions live on Zoom.

The webinar series will be followed by an in-person networking event for QTIPOC individuals looking to build connections. This will be hosted in central London in October 2025.

Session Overviews and Dates

All sessions will be chaired by Adah Parris (she/her). Adah is a futurist and pattern navigator crafting transformative frameworks to navigate systemic complexity. As a pioneer in mental health, innovation, and leadership, she invites audiences to rethink their influence and the legacy they will leave behind, using The Presence Lab to bridge individual and collective transformation.

Balancing Careers and Personal Wellbeing as a QTIPOC Professional

Join us for an insightful opening conversation on navigating work as a QTIPOC professional. This session will feature speakers sharing their journeys, from overcoming barriers to celebrating their identities. They will also share strategies for self-advocacy and resilience. 

Speakers include Daniele Lul (Parapride), Jacqui Rhule-Dagher (Legally Lesbians) and Jaron Soh (Voda).

Championing Wellbeing: Mental Health insights for QTIPOC Professionals

Explore coping strategies from experts for managing mental health in a rapidly changing world. Delegates will learn the importance of self and collective care and explore tips for sustaining emotional health. 

Speakers include Dhiren Doshi-Smith (Therapeutic Counsellor at London Friend), Rita Hirani (MindOut) and Zayna Brookhouse (Intersectional Therapist).

Elevating QTIPOC Perspectives: Innovation and Inclusion in the Creative Industries

This session will celebrate the unique contributions of QTIPOC individuals in the creative industries, highlighting stories from inspiring speakers in media, entertainment and the arts.  

Attendees will gain insights on overcoming industry biases, nurturing mental wellbeing and accessing valuable support.  

Speakers include Ben Hunte (CNN) and Ajay Pabial (Artist & EDI Consultant).

QTIPOC in Business: Thriving in the Business World

This session will explore strategies for climbing the business ladder, featuring industry speakers who will share their personal journeys and how they navigated their careers.

Navigating the STEM Landscape as a QTIPOC Professional

Join us for an empowering session where we will celebrate the contributions of QTIPOC professionals in STEM. We will explore strategies to overcoming industry barriers, building connections and advocating for yourself in the workplace.  

Date: 10 Sept | Time: 3pm – 4pm 

QTIPOC in the Public Sector: Empowered for Change or Leading with Impact

Join us as we dive into the role of QTIPOC leaders in the public sector. Speakers will share tips for breaking through sector barriers and arming ourselves with the tools to self-advocate and create lasting change.

Unlocking Potential: Strategies for Effective Leadership Growth

The session will offer the opportunity to reflect on your own leadership path, address the unique challenges faced by QTIPOC leaders and discuss effective strategies for overcoming these challenges.

Kickstart Connections: A Pre-Event Networking Session

This webinar will prepare attendees for the in-person networking event in October. We will explore tips for expanding your network, building lasting connections and how to use your network to elevate your career.

QTIPOC Networking Event

This event will bring participants together from the Proudly Pro-You series to build connections. We will be hosting the event in central London in October. Full details will be released to participants who express interest.

Who should attend 

This series is open to QTIPOC (Queer, trans, intersex people of colour) at all stages of their careers. The series is suitable for established and aspiring leaders, professionals and individuals just starting out at work.  

This series, culminating in an in-person networking event in October, is designed to build long lasting connections between QTIPOC across different career stages and sectors.

As a member of our Proudly Pro-You cohort, you will receive links to join each webinar by email. We will also share further details with you about the networking event in October. If you need any support with booking, email the team on empowerment@stonewall.org.uk.  

What do I need to bring? 

Please bring a notebook or device for taking notes to the webinars. There’s no need to prepare anything in advance.  

More information will be shared about how to prepare and what to bring to the networking event with those who register their interest.

We want to organise events that are accessible to all, so we want to work with you to accommodate any adjustments that you require. We will use your feedback to improve and develop after every event. 

The webinar series will be hosted on Zoom - here is a link to the accessibility features Zoom offers. A member of our team will be available throughout the session to support with any of the Zoom features that we use.  

The networking event will be held in central London in a wheelchair accessible venue. Full accessibility information will be shared with attendees.
