Ban Conversion Therapy

Your action can make the difference.

It is still legal for LGBTQ+ people in the UK to be subjected to conversion therapy. The harmful practice of trying to erase, repress or change people's sexual orientation and/or gender identity is taking place right now.

Together we’ve made incredible progress towards finally ending this practice. Thanks to over 28,000 supporters writing to their MP, the UK Government has promised to ban conversion therapy. But since then, there have been delays and excuses made, so we need to keep up the pressure.

We know that 7% of LGBTQ+ people have been offered or undergone conversion therapy. Trans people are nearly twice as likely to be targeted and asexual people are also at higher risk. And the impact on survivors’ lives is devastating.

People are targeted in medical, psychiatric, psychological, religious and cultural settings. These are places everyone should be safe. But until a full, legislative ban on conversion therapy is in place, LGBTQ+ people continue to be at risk of abuse.

Join us in demanding urgent action that will save lives and find out more from survivors and campaigners in the articles below.
