How do I bring the Workplace Equality Index to my HR team?

If you work at an organisation with over 200 employees based in the UK, you can help get your workplace involved in the WEI 2024.

We're excited to see submissions from all sorts of employers based anywhere in the UK.

If you're excited to be part of the equality index, run by Europe's largest LGBTQ+ charity, use these four steps to get people engaged at YOUR workplace...

  1. Develop your case for taking part in the WEI; for example, could joining the WEI create positive change within your organisation? Are there external opportunities that good publicity from winning a Stonewall Workplace Inclusion award will bring? 
  2. Work with other colleagues interested in LGBTQ+ inclusion. If you have an LGBTQ+ network group, there may be other staff interested in working with you on developing a case for taking part in the WEI
  3. Contact your HR or equality, diversity and inclusion team, who will be completing the survey on behalf or your business, share your case for taking part and advocate for LGBTQ+ inclusion in the workplace
  4. We have a section specifically designed for LGBTQ+ employee network groups: the leadership of your network group can fill out that section

Remember to submit your application by 30 November 2023, and give yourself and your team plenty of time to fill in the questions.
