Stonewall Scotland: Inclusive Leadership Programme for the Third Sector

Stonewall Scotland is hosting a fully funded Inclusive Leadership Programme that provides third sector leaders with support to create inclusive environments.

As leaders, we have a unique role in creating inclusive environments. The programme is designed to help you understand how you can support LGBTQ+ inclusion in your charity to create inclusive environments where all colleagues can thrive.

This programme provides you with opportunity to explore how you can transform your workplace by:

  • Developing an understanding of LGBTQ+ identities and experiences to confidently advocate for more inclusive workplaces.
  • Understanding the role leaders play in creating inclusive environments.
  • Discussing how you as a leader can take practical action to make your team environment more inclusive.
  • Building a network of leaders committed to LGBTQ+ inclusion and build connections across Scotland

Programme Details

Date: Tuesday 28 November 2023

Time: 9:30 - 16:30

Cost:  Free for Third Sector organisations in Scotland

Where: The programme will be hosted in-person in Central Edinburgh

Perfect for:  Any third sector leaders who want to understand how to use their influence to create an inclusive environment in their organisation.

Who can attend?

The programme is open to leaders working for third sector organisations in Scotland. Leaders can include line managers and/or leadership team members.

We welcome a diverse range of participants to our programmes, especially those that are currently underrepresented. We ensure that our programmes are accessible for all LGBTQ+ and non-LGBTQ+ professionals, including individuals from a range of ethnic backgrounds, people of faith, people with accessibility needs and/or people who are disabled – and of course those who are at the intersections of these identities.

Why participate in this programme?

We believe that LGBTQ+ people, across the world and across every stage of our lives, have limitless potential. However, we know that too often LGBTQ+ people face barriers to be their authentic selves.

This programme will allow you to identify strategies to demonstrate inclusive behaviours as a leader in your workplace, and how to navigate environments where LGBTQ+ colleagues may experience barriers to being our authentic selves.

You will also have opportunities to connect with and build a network of other third sector leaders in Scotland.
