Paul Twocock was Stonewall’s Interim Chief Executive.
Paul took up the post from Ruth Hunt who was Chief Executive from August 2014 until August 2019. He lead the charity until Nancy Kelley was recruited.
Paul was previously Executive Director of Campaigns of Strategy at Stonewall, where he worked closely with the rest of the Executive Team to deliver Stonewall’s vision of acceptance without exception, responsible for Stonewall’s Campaigns, Policy and Research, Communications, Education and Youth and Global Programmes teams, as well as Stonewall Scotland and Stonewall Cymru.
He joined Stonewall in October 2015, as Director of Campaigns, Policy and Research, and has been responsible for the progress the charity has made in key policy areas in the last four years, including the introduction of LGBT-inclusive relationships education and relationships and sex education in all schools, as well as campaign development, community engagement and research programmes.
Before Stonewall, Paul worked in a range of campaigns, communications and public affairs roles in the public and voluntary sectors in the UK, including leading PR and stakeholder communications at youth cancer charity, CLIC Sargent, and heading up media, campaigns and policy at older people support charity, the Royal Voluntary Service.
