Role description 

Stonewall exists to bring about equality and acceptance for LGBT people in the UK and worldwide. Our vision is a world where everyone, everywhere is free to be themselves. With a new Chief Executive and Chair, this is a very exciting time to join us as we undertake an ambitious work programme with a new vision, mission and new business priorities . Director of Fundraising

Stonewall, Martha Awojobi (of #CharitySoWhite), and Prospectus are delighted to be working together to recruit Stonewall’s Director of Fundraising, a crucial part of the top team, reporting to the Chief Executive. Our Fundraising team prides itself on creating innovative ways to inspire and encourage our donors to play their part in working towards acceptance without exception, whether as an individual, or as part of a community or organisation. Our work is varied across a number of fundraising sources, including individual giving, corporates, special events, major giving, community fundraising and legacies.  

The Director of Fundraising will develop Stonewall’s fundraising and income generation strategy across all areas of our income areas. You will focus onenhancing supporter experience and growing positive impact, whilst building your own portfolio of major donors and corporate clients. You will provide strong, visible and confident leadership as part of our Senior Leadership Team, driving organisational strategy, performance and the continual development of Stonewall’s culture. You will also lead and develop Stonewall’s organisation-wide approach to strategic and impactful fundraising across England, Scotland and Wales. 

We are looking for an emotional intelligent and self-aware strategic thinker, with a demonstrable track record of delivering income growth across multiple channels. With knowledge and/or experience of the fundraising environment, you will bring experience of developing supporter journeys and high value relationships, with a diversity of donors and partners. You will be a highly inclusive leader and manager, with experience of coaching, supporting change and developing staff to reach their full potential . Crucially, you will be proactively driving forward Stonewall’s race equity and trans inclusion journey as we continue to embrace an intersectional approach.
