Our Young Leaders programme explores what it means to be yourself in the workplace, while giving you the space to reflect on your values and expectations of your future.
If you are aged 18 to 25, thinking about your future and wondering how your sexual orientation and/or gender identity relates to the workplace and your career aspirations, the Stonewall Young Leaders programme could be for you.
The programme enabled me to look at myself as a role model and see how I can be a positive role model to others.

What to expect
Held over two days in December, with a reunion event six months later, this programme inspires you to think about your impact on others as young LGBTQ+ leaders and role models.
Led by Stonewall facilitators, the programme creates a safe space for you to explore what it means to lesbian, gay, bi and/or trans in the workplace. Young Leaders is a residential programme, so participants are required to stay in London for two nights in accommodation booked by Stonewall.
What the programme offers
Stonewall Young Leaders is a two-day residential programme, which offers a selected group of up to 36 young professionals an important opportunity to:
- Reflect on how their identity as an LGBTQ+ person has an impact on their role as a role model and leader in the workplace
- Explore how they can be a more effective organisational role model
- Network with other LGBTQ+ professionals from the private, public and third sectors and forge ongoing relationships

I always believed that there was not much to gain from other LGBT people my age. Quite simply, I was wrong.

Who should apply?
Stonewall actively supports and encourages LGBTQ+ people from a variety of backgrounds, experiences and skill sets to apply. We are particularly keen to hear from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) and disabled candidates.
If you are aged 18 to 25, LGBTQ+ and keen to understand how your sexuality and/or gender identity can relate to your workplace and career, this programme could be for you. The successful participants work in one large group and smaller 'learning sets' over the two days. Participants who are willing to contribute to the discussions and exercises will get the most from the programme.
£989 + VAT. (If your employer is unable to cover the cost of the programme, or you are not currently in work, please see our subsidised places.)
If your employer is unable to fund your space on the Young Leaders programme you may be eligible for one of our subsidised spaces. Programme rates include the following:
- Two nights' accommodation in London (3 & 4 December)
- All meals and refreshments including an informal welcome dinner and formal networking dinner
- The two-day programme itself
- Attendance at the six-month reunion, date to be confirmed
