We're extremely concerned by a recent court judgement that has resulted in a trans woman from an orthodox Jewish community being blocked from seeing her children.
This decision sets a worrying precedent.
It could have far-reaching consequences not just for lesbian, gay, bi and trans people but for any parent or individual who finds themselves discriminated against within their own community.
This judgement also perpetuates the damaging and divisive idea that there is conflict between faith and equality.
We work with faith leaders, including rabbis, who are keen to promote equality for LGBT people and to ensure that LGBT people are included and feel accepted by their wider faith communities.
Stonewall works with schools, including faith schools, to help tackle bullying of lesbian, gay, bi and trans young people and anti-LGBT language.
