This year, we’re asking all our Diversity Champions to hold a fun Eurovision fundraiser for Stonewall. As well as being Eurovision Eve, Friday 17 May is International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia (IDAHO). If you're looking for a way to mark the day, we've got all the ideas you need for a successful event here. Download our Eurovision Party Pack.
Whether it’s holding a sweepstake and donating the winnings, hosting a fancy dress party, or encouraging staff to host parties at home, you can enjoy the delights of Eurovision knowing you’re helping to support thousands of lesbian, gay and bisexual people at the same time. To learn more see How Your Donations Help.
Organise a Eurovision themed smörgåsbord lunch.Take a look at recipes ideas given to us by the voice of Eurovision himself, Graham Norton!
"Eurovision has always been one of my favourite nights of the year. It’s so important for us to remember that though we may be enjoying the best of Eurovision - be it heavily made-up pop singers or bohemian folk groups - openly with our loved ones, for many individuals watching their country take part, that simply isn’t the case."
Or, since the host country for 2013 is Sweden, why not try these Swedish delights?
Download our Eurovision Party invitations and add your own personal touch. Charge colleagues £2, £5 or £10 to join the fun!
At your Eurovision lunch challenge colleagues to take part in a sweepstakes where they can donate £1 to guess the Eurovision winner, top score, predict which country will be bringing up the rear and how many times the host will change outfits. Update all players with the results on Monday as well as letting them know how much you’ve raised.
Up the ante and make your Eurovision do fancy dress! Have colleagues donate £5 to come dressed as their favourite Eurovision act. From ABBA to Jedward to Dustin the Turkey, there are sure to be some amazing outfits. Why not order Stonewall merchandise to give out as prizes for best costume?
Whatever you decide to do, have a great time and don't forget to send us photos of your party! Email them to Reiko on firstname.lastname@example.org or send them live via Twitter on the night to @stonewalluk.
