For every pound you’ve donated to Stonewall through Gift Aid – as a one-off donation or as a regular gift – we are able to reclaim up to an extra 25p from the Government at no extra cost to you. To qualify for Gift Aid, what you pay in UK income tax or capital gains tax must at least equal the amount we will claim the tax year.
For every pound you donate to us through Gift Aid, we’re able to claim an extra 25p from the Inland Revenue at no extra cost to you. This makes a huge difference to our work in achieving equality across Britain. You must pay an amount of Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax for each Tax Year (6 Apr one year – 5 Apr the next) that is at least equal to the amount of tax that Stonewall will reclaim on your gifts for that tax year. Please notify us if you want to cancel your declaration, change your name or home address or no longer pay sufficient tax on your income and/or capital gains.
Remember, as of 6 April 2010 a £100 donation can now be worth £176.28 after Gift Aid and higher-rate tax have been reclaimed. You can personally reclaim the difference between the 20% basic tax rate and the 40% or 50% rate, depending on how much you earn. If you have any questions about Gift Aid, please call Lynn on 020 7593 1876.
