Local Elections 2014

On May 22 you'll have the chance to vote for your local councillors. They have a say in everything from education to healthcare so it's a great chance to influence what goes in your local area.

To find out more about elections in your area take a look at the About My Vote website. Or you can shoot us an email at election@stonewall.org.uk and we'll be happy to help you out.

Why not get in contact with your local candidates and see what they're doing to make life better for lesbian, gay and bisexual people in your community? Three things you could ask them are:

  • Have they signed the No Bystanders pledge and committed to tackle bullying and abusive language in your community?

  • Do they have plans to make sure that schools in your area are equipped to tackle homophobic and biphobic bullying?

  • Do they have a plan for tackling hate crime in your area?
