Stonewall Scotland responded today to claims made by Dundee-based charity Solas about its funding

Solas, The Christian Institute and CARE for Scotland should check their facts. The only monies that Stonewall Scotland has ever received from the Scottish Government have been to fund specific support for the better, and more cost-effective, delivery of public services. Some of this work such as our NHS Inclusion programme have been widely praised across the world.

Stonewall Scotland has never received, or deployed, public money for campaigning purposes. All our campaigning is funded by thousands of individual donors. It is entirely untrue  for Solas and others to suggest otherwise.  It is also a clear breach of the regulations of the Office of the Scottish Charity Regulator for a charity to make untrue suggestions. No doubt OSRC will investigate as appropriate.
