Public services are just that; services provided by the government to the public. Why then, do so many people still face discrimination, poor treatment and a lack of consideration from those who deliver services?
Stonewall Scotland's Good Practice Programme has been commissioned by the Scottish Government to look at the way that local services, such as the police, fire services and councils, provide for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people in their area. Such services are not luxuries; they're basic rights and should be equally accessible to everyone.
The Good Practice Programme has published a range of publications aimed at helping Public Services.

And we've also produced a downloadable PDF for service users explaining what Public Services actually are. To find out more, click here.
