Stonewall appoints new trustees

Stonewall is delighted to announce the appointment of six new trustees. They were recruited, in line with charity best practice, after a skills audit of Stonewall’s existing board and through an open recruitment process.

The new trustees, who take up their appointments this month, are:

  • Neil Bentley, Deputy Director-General of the CBI and a non-executive director of the Carbon Trust
  • Rachel Harper, Director of Internal Audit (Refining & Marketing) at BP
  • Laura McAllister, Professor of Governance at the University of Liverpool and Chair of Sport Wales
  • Kevin Orford, previously Chief Executive of the East Midlands Strategic Health Authority
  • Lisa Pinney, Head of Strategic Co-ordination at the Environment Agency
  • Oliver Rowe, Business Director at BDA Communication

Stonewall Chair David Isaac said: ‘We’re delighted to have recruited a group of new trustees of such high quality and with such a range of backgrounds. They will all be of invaluable support as we continue to grow both the depth and reach of Stonewall’s incredibly important work.’

Stonewall, the lesbian, gay and bisexual charity founded in 1989, intends to hold a further round of open trustee recruitment in the autumn of 2012.
