A romantic break to Zürich, a year’s gym membership at London’s Spa Verta, pasta with Paddy O’Connell and a VIP experience at the O2 arena complete with concert tickets for the likes of Kylie, Katy Perry, Duran Duran or Dolly Parton are among the lots up for grabs in Stonewall’s annual Silent Auction.
The Silent Auction – which supports Stonewall’s ongoing work to improve lesbian, gay and bisexual equality in Britain – is open to bids from everyone.
Among the other Auction lots are dinner for four at the Savoy’s newly revived River Restaurant, a redesign for your garden by visionary designer Dean Grant, and a bottle of the Commons Speaker’s single malt whiskey signed by David Cameron, Nick Clegg, Ed Miliband and Speaker of the House, John Bercow.
Or if food and drink are more to your taste there are two special lots; a wine tasting for up to twelve people in the comfort of your own home with France's first female Master of Wine, Isabelle Legeron. The second is an incredible six-course tasting dinner for six people in your very own kitchen, cooked by the UBS Executive Chef. You won’t need to lift a finger as this lot even includes a uniformed butler to wait on you hand and foot. And if you’ve ever wanted to transform your dining table there’s also a sensational centrepiece on offer from award-winning artist Karina Thomas.
Adrenaline junkies are catered for too, with a day up for grabs on the trophy winning racing-yacht Night Owl. The entirely gay-skippered and crewed yacht will take you on a trip on the Solent around Cowes.
‘There’s something for everyone in this year’s Silent Auction,’ says Catherine Bosworth, Stonewall Director of Fundraising. ‘Money can’t buy some of these lots and each bid helps support Stonewall’s vital work to improve equality for lesbian, gay and bisexual people in Britain. And as some bids are for groups of people you can buddy up with your friends and send a group bid.’
