Stonewall welcomes first out professional cricketer

Welcoming Steven Davies' decision to come out, Ben Summerskill Stonewall Chief Executive said:

'We applaud Steven’s decision to come out publicly. That Steven is still competing at the highest level in international cricket is especially significant and sends a powerful message, including to young lesbian and gay people across Britain.  The lack of openly gay role models in professional sport, just a year before Britain hosts the Olympics, is striking. There’s still not a single openly gay player in the Premier League.'
