Stonewall is delighted to announce that Enterprise Rent-A-Car has become the 600th member of its Diversity Champions programme for employers. Enterprise will be working with Stonewall to promote a good working environment for their existing and potential employees and to ensure equal treatment for those who are lesbian, gay and bisexual.
To celebrate membership of the programme reaching 600 an evening reception was hosted last night (July 14) at law firm Hogan Lovells. The event was attended by representatives of the 600 member organisations which now include Lloyds Banking Group, IBM and the Army. Enterprise joins the programme shortly after Cisco Systems and Office Angels.
‘As an employer how we value and develop our staff sets us apart in our industry,’ says Daryl Scales, Enterprise Finance Director. ‘An inclusive environment is critical to our success and by joining the Diversity Champions Programme we’re taking a further step towards helping our staff achieve their full potential, making Enterprise a more effective business, an employer of choice for our talented staff and a leader in our field.’
Ben Summerskill, Stonewall Chief Executive, said: ‘We're delighted that Enterprise has taken this decision. This sends out a very powerful message –that Enterprise recognises that investing in diversity makes good business sense in tough economic times. Forward thinking 21st century employers recruit, recognise and support the very best staff regardless of background – and understand that providing support for all their staff enhances operational effectiveness.’
Members of Stonewall's Diversity Champions Programme now employ more than five million people between them. The Programme has grown to over 600 members since it was established in 2001.
