More than 1,000 organisations have taken part in the Workplace Equality Index since it began 10 years ago.
This evidence-based benchmarking enables organisations to assess their achievements and progress on LGBT equality in the workplace including policy, staff engagement and career development. It also provides an opportunity to compare and contrast with other organisations in their region or sector. Stonewall Diversity Champions receive in-depth consultative feedback detailing where and how improvements could be made.
The highest performing organisations are celebrated as Stonewall Top 100 employers, enhancing their brand as an employer and service provider of choice.
Stonewall revises the criteria for the index every three years, pushing top performing organisations to new heights while providing a framework for thought and action for employers at the start of their journey.
Taking part is completely free and open to all sectors. Organsiations should register here to make a submssion before deadline of Friday 4th September 2015.
Organisations we work with
‘As a benchmarking tool, it’s the best in the class.’
Mark Mclane, Managing Director, Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion, Barclays
‘Having access to such a wealth of support and research, and benchmarking ourselves against the best employers and health providers, enables us to ensure our services are world class - serving the needs of all our communities.'
Jason Killens, Director of Operations, London Ambulance Service
‘We regard the Workplace Equality Index as a hugely important benchmarking tool because our clients and our competitors are also doing this. It lets us actively demonstrate and show evidence of what we’re doing and why we’re doing it.’
Deborah Richards, Diversity and Inclusion Leader, IBM
Eight employers have repeatedly demonstrated their commitment to creating inclusive workplaces by ranking in the top ten of the Stonewall Top 100 Employers list at least three times in the last five years. In recognition of their unwavering and consistent efforts to create workplaces where lesbian, gay and bisexual staff can bring their whole selves to work, they have graduated to Star Performer status.
Star Performers are not ranked and instead work with Stonewall on pioneering initiatives that will define best practice for tomorrow. From launching global campaigns to revolutionising service delivery, these eight organisations will share their expertise and pave the way for other organisations to follow.
In addition, Star Performers actively mentor another employer who is working to create a workplace culture that is inclusive of lesbian, gay and bisexual people. Through regular contact, the two organisations work together to develop strategies that will help transform the workplace culture of the mentee.
