- A stronger understanding of the business value of LGBT inclusion and how to link it with performance
Stonewall and the blue light services
Police, fire and ambulance services have previously shown a commitment to LGBT equality by participation in Stonewall programmes with:
53 services participating in the Diversity Champions programme
8 services supporting 8 senior LGBT staff to attend the Leadership programme
39 services supporting 111 LGBT staff to attend a Role Model programme
7 services supporting 150 non-LGBT staff to attend an Allies programme
With an increased trend to partnership working, this programme is an opportunity for local authority staff involved with blue light programmes to join their peers employed directly by the services
"I am more aware of myself as an authentic leader and of why I take the decisions I do. I also feel more confident with the personal power I have as a leader."
"It's an inspirational two days, where your qualities as an LGBT person and leader are affirmed, and you’re challenged to discover how to use them positively in your organisation."
"This programme is the most transformational one I have ever experienced. It grabbed my attention from the first minute and has empowered me to build on my learning when I return to work."
Who can apply
