Sports Role Models programme

A programme to increase the visibility of LGBT role models in sport

Sport plays a huge role in British life but we believe more needs to be done to create an equal and welcoming environment for LGBT people.

In team sports, being open as an LGBT person carries the expectation of discrimination, and young people continue to experience bullying in school sports lessons.

With high-profile sports stars including Tom Daley, Casey Stoney and Robbie Rogers coming out in the last few years, there has been a positive trend towards out visible role models. We deliver personal development programmes to LGBT sports professionals across the UK to enable them to increase their visibility.

Being able to be myself is like being on the hockey pitch. Absolute freedom.
