This programme has now taken place. We are looking to host another programme in the near future.
Who and what is this programme for?
The Stonewall one-day Role Models Programme gives LGBT people of faith the opportunity to explore what it means to be an LGBT role model and the space to identify how they are going to create an inclusive environment for other LGBT people within their faith communities.
The Role Models Programme is one of many empowerment programmes we have at Stonewall. We are striving to take these further and use them as a real force for social change. As part of that work, we are delighted to offer a free Role Models Programme specifically for people of faith.
We’re keen to hear from lesbian, gay, bi and trans people from all faiths.
Our mission is to ensure that LGBT role models and allies are visible throughout public life in order to create an environment where all LGBT people are able to participate fully in society.
To achieve this, we run a series of empowerment programmes to enable people to connect with and influence others to challenge homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying, celebrate difference, improve inclusion and increase the visibility of role models.
This programme aims to:
- Empower LGBT people of faith to be active change agents, creating more inclusive environments
- Increase visibility of LGBT role models from different faiths through specific actions that individuals will commit to do in order to celebrate LGBT identities and raise awareness of the challenges LGBT people face
- Develop a network of LGBT role models from across a range of different faiths and communities
The programme has been kindly funded by The MB Reckitt Trust.
Applications are now closed.
We aim to advise all applicants of the outcome of their application within two weeks of the submission deadline above.
