LGB Organisations


  • Educational Action Challenging Homophobia (EACH)EACH challenges homophobia through education in schools and delivers training for other professionals. It has a national freefone number for young people: 0808 1000 143
  • Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network
    This American organisation offers an imaginative range of classroom activities and background information.
  • Joint Action Against Homophobic Bullying (JAAHB)
    A partnership project of regional LGBT community organisation with young people, LEAs, the police, and other stakeholders, JAAHB takes a proactive child-protection-based approach to encouraging schools to become secure environments for all. Based in Devon, they provide direct help for young people, families and staff in Cornwall, Devon, Dorset and Somerset. They also offer information and training for those working with young people.
  • Schools OutAn organisation working for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transperson equality in education. Details of books, videos, lesson plans and training packs for teachers can be found here.
  • LGBT Youth Scotland
    LGBT Youth Scotland is working towards the inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender young people in the life of Scotland. They provide a range of services and opportunities for young people, families and professionals which aim to increase awareness and confidence, as well as reducing isolation and intolerance.
  • Out for our children
    Out For Our Children is a group of London lesbian parents producing books and resources that reflect their children's lives and family experiences.

Anti-Bullying Organisations

  • Anti-Bullying Network
    Established by the Scottish Executive, ABN aims to enable teachers, parents and young people to share ideas about how bullying should be tackled.
  • Department for Children, Schools and Families
    This practical anti-bullying pack is aimed at pupils, their families and teachers.
  • National Healthy Schools Programme
    The programme provides support for schools on a number of health-related issues, including promoting emotional health and wellbeing, supporting staff and challenging bullying.
  • Kidscap
    Working UK-wide, Kidscape provides individuals and organisations with practical skills and resources to keep children safe from harm. Services include a helpline, resources, training programmes, advice and research.
  • Anti Bullying Alliance (ABA)
    The ABA was founded by NSPCC and NCB in 2002 and brings together 50 national organisations to reduce the bullying of young people by promoting best practice, developing policy and disseminating information.
