Karl is a bisexual trans man, who is also a committed Christian.
He came to faith in his early twenties, while at university studying maths and physics, something in which free food played an alarmingly significant role! Karl considers his faith to be the most important thing in his life.
For him, if we want to see what God is like, we need to look at Jesus Christ. When we do that, there’s an invitation to enter into a relationship with God which is all about love and hope, and to get involved in transforming the world into a place where all people are valued and celebrated.
He is currently training to be an ordained minister in the Methodist Church, which involves essay writing, helping out in a local church, playing pool (badly) and eating lots of biscuits.
Being LGBT has played a significant role in shaping Karl, and he is passionate about changing the Church, so that it becomes the inclusive place it should be, reflecting God’s love and welcome, and challenging prejudice in the wider world.
