Commitment

Flexible hours (ideally 4 hours a week minimum) for 3 months

Key responsibilities

Media monitoring volunteers will develop a bank of media research to challenge negative attitudes towards LGB people in Wales.

  • To monitor online press, magazines and newspapers to find stories about LGB people and issues and collect them
  • Or to monitor TV channels or radio stations to find programs and stories about LGB people and issues and collect them by means of short summaries of programs
  • To identify publications, websites, TV channels and radio stations addressing LGB issues and responding to relevant stories

Skills and competencies

  • Good verbal and written communication
  • A basic knowledge of LGB issues and the media in Wales
  • Basic proficiency in word processing, email and the internet
  • Fluent Welsh speaker 
  • A basic knowledge of the press in Wales would be desirable
