Stonewall Cymru, the gay equality charity, has announced a diverse line-up for its first Workplace conference in Wales. The conference, on Monday September 27 at Novotel Cardiff, will feature keynote speeches from Dyfed Powys Police, IBM, the Environment Agency and Cardiff Council.
The all-Wales conference is designed to help employers get the best performance from their lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) staff. Among the issues that the conference will discuss are how to effectively engage with the LGB community, what the Public Duty in the Equality Act 2010 means and how it relates to LGB issues, how to manage any issues around religion and sexual orientation and how smaller employers can promote sexual orientation equality.
Joining Stonewall Cymru as keynote speakers are:
‘It’s vital for employers to attract and retain the best talent in times when economic times are tough,’ says Dean Lloyd, Stonewall Cymru Workplace Officer. ‘People perform better when they can be themselves at work, and there are many ways that employers can help this happen.’
