Stonewall Cymru and Triangle Wales are launching a major report into the housing needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people in Wales. The report, The housing needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) people in Wales will be launched on Tuesday 3 October at the Welsh Assembly.
The report reveals shocking findings in LGB housing needs:
Jacqui Jablaoui, Projects Manager, Triangle Wales said 'While we had anecdotal evidence of homophobic attacks and harassment from the calls to the Triangle Wales housing and support helpline, it still comes as a shock when you see the research findings.'
Matthew Batten, Stonewall Cymru's Policy and Public Affairs Officer, said 'It is vital that local authorities and housing providers understand the specific housing needs of lesbian, gay and bisexual people. We are calling for all housing providers to demonstrate a zero tolerance approach to homophobia and introduce comprehensive policies and procedures that address the needs of LGB people in Wales.'
The launch will take place at 530pm at The Milling Area, Crickhowell House, Welsh Assembly Buildings. Telephone Jacqui Jablaoui on 029 2045 3030 or 07766251314 for more details.
