Stonewall Leadership Programme helps high flyers soar

Stonewall's highly acclaimed Leadership Programme is now in its third year, giving rising lesbian and gay professionals an opportunity to learn how to use the authenticity being out at work affords them. We recognise that gay people face unique leadership challenges, this Programme is designed to help lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) staff unlock their potential and maximise their contribution to their organisation.

Stonewall encourages LGB staff from all sectors, with the potential to be senior decision makers within five years, to apply to take part in this year's Programme. Typically candidates are already highly credible within their organisation, at middle management level with a 5-10 year track record of delivery.

Dr Annabelle Willox of Cardiff University attended the Leadership Programme 2006. She said: "The programme enabled me to realise and analyse a number of fundamental things about myself, my skills and abilities, and enabled me to rethink my career opportunities. Before undertaking this programme I always thought I could: now I know I can."

This year Stonewall is delighted to have secured the services of Kristin von Donop to moderate the Programme. Kristin is a Senior Associate at internationally renowned leadership consultancy Cambridge Leadership Associates, founded by Ron Heifetz and Marty Linsky from Harvard University's John F. Kennedy School of Government.

Kristin has more than 20 years of experience helping individuals and organisations achieve positive change in public, private and non-profit sectors. She has earned the trust and respect of senior executives running multi-billion dollar businesses in information technology, professional services and sales environments. Prior to joining Cambridge Leadership Associates, Kristin was a senior organisational leadership consultant at IBM.

Kristin is an out gay woman, and she has worked extensively with lesbian and gay leaders, including senior LGB leadership at IBM.
