This is the fifth year running that Environment Agency Wales has been named as the ‘Top Welsh Employer’.
South Wales Police and North Wales Police have regularly appeared in the Top 100 and are both amongst the Top 5 performing police forces in Great Britain. You can see the Top 100 in full here.
“During the past decade Welsh employers have come a long way and it is particularly heartening that once again they represent such a healthy proportion of the Top 100, and that they continue to focus on making a real difference to people’s working lives." Said Andrew White, Director of Stonewall Cymru.
“In 2003 one in four respondents to our first ever research reported having being dismissed from their job because of their sexual orientation. In marking our 10th anniversary in Wales and a decade since the introduction of employment protections for gay people, we are delighted at the changes we’ve witnessed during this time. However we’re acutely aware though of the amount of work still to be done to make sure that Wales’ 114,000 lesbian, gay and bisexual employees can be themselves and perform better as a result.”
Stonewall’s Top 100 Employers is made up of the highest scoring organisations from the Workplace Equality Index – Stonewall’s annual benchmarking survey for employers. To find out more about the index click here
