Environment Agency Wales is Stonewall Cymru’s Top Welsh Employer 2013. For the fifth year running the agency has scored the highest score of any Welsh submission to the Workplace Equality Index, including feedback from their lesbian, gay and bisexual staff.
This year the agency’s LGBT Staff Network has focussed on engaging staff based in remote and rural locations. Information on support available to LGB staff is prominently displayed in regional offices where staff do not have access to the organisation’s intranet system. The Wales lead for the network is also available to meet with field staff, raising awareness of LGB issues and the network’s activities.
“We are very proud to be named top employer in Wales for the fifth year in a row. This is testament to the work of our LGBT network and the attitude of all our staff."
“By making sure our staff feel comfortable and confident to be themselves in the workplace results in a happier and more productive workforce. I am honoured that we have been recognised by Stonewall Cymru for this achievement.”
