Who should attend?
Lesbian, gay and bisexual people make daily choices about coming out to colleagues and clients. Since the publication in 2008 of Peak Performance, Stonewall’s ground-breaking research into workplace productivity, progressive British employers increasingly understand that their LGB staff are more efficient, confident, creative and motivated when they feel able to be open about their sexual orientation.
This session explores how sexual orientation influences identity and relationships in the workplace. It also provides interesting insights into authenticity, career progression and performance.
LGBT staff can play a vital role in furthering equality in their organisation. Having established the value of authenticity in the morning session, in the afternoon you will explore how you, as individuals and networks, can make an impact on your organisation’s culture – creating working environments where people can be themselves. You will establish the barriers to achieving this goal, and develop a plan to overcome these barriers and engage your colleagues in furthering equality in your place of work.
