Make as much noise as you can
Try and get in front of a CCTV camera
As soon as you can, go somewhere you know is safe
Get help immediately
Report the incident directly to your local police station, to contact your police click here (go to 1.Police force page(2))

Don't drink alcohol, you need to give a clear account of what happened
If you have been attacked, don't shower or change your clothes, it may destroy evidence
If you have had your keys taken, change the locks
If you don't have the confidence to speak directly to the police and don’t want to give your name, you can still report the incident anonymously by using a Self-Reporting Form click here. Every report is taken seriously and could help to stop you and others suffering hate crime.
But remember if the police can’t contact you they will not be able to charge the offender

Schools and colleges should have policies / procedures that protect you from discrimination and bullying

Tell someone. Not everyone who is lesbian, gay or bisexual will experience bullying in school, college or the workplace. If it does happen, it is important you tell someone.
