"Equality in housing: guidance for tackling discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation" - National Housing Federation 1999

This guidance on tackling discrimination on the grounds of sexual orientation and promoting equality is a supplement to the Federation's publication Equality in housing: a code of practice and should be read in conjunction with it. It is part of a series of guidance from the Federation providing advice on tackling discrimination in a variety of fields, including race, disability and gender.
This guidance sets out the principles which should underpin any housing organisation's equality policies. It promotes good practice across the range of activities undertaken by independent social landlords and provides a practical framework for pursuing equality for lesbians, bisexuals and gay men.

This guide is a joint publication of the National Coalition for the Homeless and the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force. It combines the transgender expertise of the Task Force with NCH's expertise on shelters to produce a usable guide that is suitable for homeless shelters across the country.
