Since 1999, with the introduction of the Sex Discrimination (Gender Reassignment) Regulations, transsexual people have been protected from certain types of discrimination in the workplace and in training. On 1 December 2003, the Employment Equality (Sexual Orientation) Regulations will be introduced, legally protecting lesbian, gay and bisexual workers from discrimination and harassment in the workplace.
