People perform better when they can be themselves - Stonewall has stood by this motto since it first began engaging with employers through the Diversity Champions programme. But what does that mean? And what can employers do to create an environment where all employees are able to reach their full potential? 

Taking part in the Workplace Equality Index is an effective way to measure your efforts to tackle discrimination and create an inclusive workplace for your lesbian, gay and bisexual employees. Since 2005, more than 800 major employers have taken part in the Index using Stonewall's criteria as a model for good practice. Stonewall revises the Index criteria every three years. 2015 is the first year of the new Index cycle.

The new criteria promises to be stringent yet succinct; pushing top performers to new heights while providing a framework for thought and action for employers at the start of their journey. The submission form for the Workplace Equality Index 2015 is now available to download.

Online submission

Once complete, your Index submission form should be uploaded onto our secure website with your supporting evidence. The link to our secure website is - https://stonewall.smartsimple.ie

Members of the Diversity Champions and Global Diversity Champions programmes will be sent an email containing their individual username and password to access the secure website. If your organisation is not a member of either programme and you would like to make a submission to the Workplace Equality Index, please contact the Stonewall Workplace Team at workplace@stonewall.org.uk to register for a username and password.

Submissions will close on Friday 5 September 2014. Please ensure you have submitted your Index and all accompanying evidence by 5pm on this date.

Staff Feedback Questionnaire

To supplement evidence submitted by employers, Stonewall seeks feedback directly from the entrants’ employees. The results of this questionnaire are worth five per cent of the total available marks.
