Basic steps to creating an LGB friendly workplace
Many employers in Britain recognise the importance of fostering working environments where gay people can truly be themselves. For those organisations at the beginning of this journey it can be difficult to identify where to target support first. This session is aimed at new Diversity Champions programme members and those employers who are just starting to explore how best to promote equality in their workplace.
Understand the basics – including the relevant legislation, key policies and how to open lines of communication with staff
Receive useful materials including a monitoring form template, a plain English guide on monitoring staff and a diversity calendar to plan LGB awareness events
