Role model profiles

Over the month Stonewall will be profiling lesbian, gay and bisexual people in the world of maths, science and engineering and their experiences. Find out how who their role models are and what advice they would give to other gay people who are interested in getting into their field of work.

  • Daniel Chapman-Harris is a secondary school Maths Teacher. Find out why he was interested in maths, who inspired him, why he thinks it's important to recognise the contribution lesbian, gay and bisexual people have made in the world of maths and his advice for other gay people who want a career in maths. Read more.

  • Hayley Barnden is a third year Engineering Apprentice for the Ministry of Defence, and Stonewall Talent Programme Alumni member. Find out what got her interested in enginnering, whether her sexual orientation has impacted on her work as a scientist and the advice she would give to others who want to work in engineering. Read more.
