Financial services firm UBS and the Bridge Academy in Hackney have developed a template for a day-long workshop using FIT in secondary schools. The ‘drop-down day’ has been trialled with over 600 students over three years from Years 7-9 at The Bridge Academy. The ‘drop-down day’ was enhanced at the Bridge Academy by the involvement of UBS volunteers who took an active role in helping to facilitate the day. All schools will be different, so this model can be adapted to suit your school.
UBS is one of the world’s leading financial firms and a member of Stonewall’s Diversity Champions programme. UBS’s EMEA Pride Network has worked on this initiative with the UBS Community Affairs team as part of a unique partnership with the Bridge Academy in Hackney, London.
The Bridge Academy is a founder member of the Stonewall School Champions programme, part of Stonewall’s Education for All campaign, which provides tailored support and guidance to primary and secondary schools in challenging homophobic bullying and celebrating difference.
