The seminar will see the launch of our latest Education Guide on effective school leadership, aimed at headteachers and school senior leadership teams. The guide will look at the importance of leadership in preventing and tackling homophobic bullying, how to manage resistance and how to bring key partners with you, including governors, staff, parents/carers and pupils.
The seminar will feature guest speakers from schools who have used effective leadership as a tool for tackling homophobic bullying. There will also be opportunities to network with other Education Champions and Stonewall staff.
The morning session will focus on Stonewall’s Education Equality Index 2012. You will hear from local authorities who are in the Top Ten of the 2011 Index about how they completed the Index and about the work they have done to enable them to score so highly.
Date: Tuesday 29th November 2011
Time: 10.30am - 3.30pm
Venue: Banqueting Suite, Council House, Victoria Square, Birmingham, B1 1BB
Please note this seminar is only open to members of the Education Champions programme. For a full list of Education Champions, please click here.
The Education Champion seminars are free to attend and each local authority is entitled to at least two places. We encourage you to invite a headteacher from a local school to the morning session as it'll be particularly useful and relevant to them.
