Promoting an inclusive curriculum and supporting young people coming out

Stonewall is holding its next bi-annual seminar in September, exclusively for members of our Education Champions programme.

Our free seminar will provide you with an opportunity to:

• Be inspired by our new curriculum resources. In light of the new national curriculum we have produced a new resource to help schools to make their curriculum LGB-inclusive which we will be launching at the seminar.

• Learn strategies to help support young people coming out. We launched our Coming Out guide at July’s Education for All Conference. It is designed to provide answers to some of the most common questions that young people might have if they are thinking about coming out, or think they might be lesbian, gay or bisexual. This session will provide you with the tools to support young people coming out, and hear from a young person about their coming out story.

• Find out more about the Stonewall School Champions Programme. We are now offering a Stonewall-led Train the Trainer course to a staff member from every school that joins the programme. This session will provide you with an opportunity to hear details of the training and learn about the package of support that Stonewall offers to schools.

• Network with, and learn from, others facing similar challenges to you.

The details of this seminar are as follows:

Date: Tuesday 23 September

Time: 10.30am – 3.30pm
