What's It Got To Do With Me? explains to people why ‘equality and diversity’ is important and how to make sure their local services are delivering equal services. Published in response to new provisions in the Equality Act (see Sexual Orientation – The Equality Act Made Simple) it gives tips on how the public can spot whether their local hospitals, schools or other public bodies are doing what they should be doing under the Act.
No other guide helps members of the public to hold their local services to account in such a simple and clear way. 'What’s it got to do with me?’ will help people understand why the Equality Act is important but will also help organisations too. By sharing the guide with their services users organisations will be supported to become more transparent and accountable in their engagement with diverse local communities.
Specially printed hard copies of the guide with your organisation's logo on the back cover can be also be printed.
This publication follows our successful ‘What’s it got to do with you?’ guide which explains the rationale for monitoring.
