Stonewall's key priorities for 2007/08

• Education. Challenging and combating homophobia and homophobic bullying in schools and colleges and underachievement by LGB young people through Education for All project. Activities will include a Beacon Schools Programme, launch & distribution of our training DVD 'Spell it Out', a postcard campaign, a School Climate Survey, research into bullying and school sport, development of the Education for All website and a second national Education for All conference.
  
  
• Workplace. Development of work with major employers through our 'Diversity Champions' programme, with an improved Diversity Champions online facility and a membership survey. Continued awareness-raising of the new employment laws through an updated employer handbook. Activities will include a Leadership Programme, our annual Workplace Equality Index and Workplace Conference, an updated student recruitment guide and bi-monthly good practice seminars. We will be publishing our next workplace guide on 'Bullying', running Masterclasses for the DTI, and publishing a lesbian and gay consumer guide.
  
  
• Fair life chances. Promoting the fair treatment of LGB people as users of public services, e.g. health and housing. Publication of a survey on public attitudes towards gay people, a lesbian health survey, research into follow-up of reported crimes, research around community cohesion including LGB people, and working with the Local Government Association on improving services for LGB people.
  
  
• Equal legal treatment. Ensuring the Equality Act is enacted and publicised fairly - distribution of guides for individuals on goods and services. Promoting the introduction of a Single Equality Act to protect lesbian and gay people for the first time. Building an evidence base for legislation covering incitement to homophobic hatred. Activities will include parliamentary briefings, round table meetings with faith groups and research into issues around faith and sexual orientation.
  
  
• Media. Follow up to Tuned Out, looking at options including engaging with young people and/or local media.
